The Police

The Police were an English rock band formed in London in 1977 by Sting (vocals and bass), Stewart Copeland (drums) and Andy Summers (guitar). Emerging from the British new wave scene, they blended punk, reggae and pop influences, becoming one of the world’s biggest bands by the early 1980s. Their early hits “Roxanne” and “Message in a Bottle” highlighted their catchy hooks and rhythmic grooves, while later singles like “Don’t Stand So Close to Me,” “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic” and “Every Breath You Take” topped charts around the world.
