The Moody Blues were an English rock band formed in Birmingham in 1964, with original members Graeme Edge, Denny Laine, Mike Pinder, Ray Thomas, and Clint Warwick. Initially part of the British beat and R&B scene, they achieved early success with the UK No. 1 single “Go Now”.
Their 1967 album Days of Future Passed fused rock with orchestral music and introduced hits like “Nights in White Satin” and “Tuesday Afternoon,” establishing them as pioneers of symphonic and progressive rock (The Moody Blues). Later songs such as “Question,” “The Story in Your Eyes,” and “I’m Just a Singer (In a Rock and Roll Band)” showcased lush melodies and philosophical lyrics that translate well to the ukulele.
