The Cure
The Cure are an English rock band formed in Crawley in 1978, fronted by singer and guitarist Robert Smith. Emerging from the post-punk scene, they developed a distinctive blend of gothic rock, new wave and pop, characterised by evocative lyrics and atmospheric soundscapes. With hits like ‘Boys Don’t Cry’, ‘Just Like Heaven’, ‘Lovesong’ and ‘Friday I’m in Love’, The Cure’s melodic guitar lines and emotive chord progressions translate beautifully to the ukulele.
