Tears for Fears are an English pop rock band formed in 1981 by Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith. Emerging from the new wave scene, they blended synth-pop and progressive rock influences to create sophisticated, emotionally charged music. The duo achieved international success with their 1980s albums ‘Songs from the Big Chair’ and ‘The Seeds of Love’, producing timeless hits like ‘Everybody Wants to Rule the World’, ‘Shout’ and ‘Mad World’. Their melodic synthesizer arrangements, thoughtful lyrics, and memorable choruses can be beautifully adapted to the ukulele, offering a rich palette for mellow and dynamic strumming.
